I take a practical and flexible approach to editing and proofreading. I’m not a stickler for rules for the sake of rules, but a respecter of style, whether it’s corporate or publisher style or personal writing style. The idea is to make the reading experience as seamless as possible.
To see a sampling of individual books and other materials I’ve copy edited or proofread, head over to my Edited and Proofed Portfolio page.
If you’d like more in-depth editing for your manuscript while it’s in progress, check out developmental editing here.
If you already know your preferred per-page cost, here’s my set of ranges to see how they fit your budget:
- For copy editing: $3.50 to $4.75 per 250-word manuscript page for light-to-medium editing, and $5.00 to $8.00 per page for heavier jobs (lots of rephrasing or tagging for layout).
- Proofreading (just simple grammar, spelling, and typos plus layout issues) $2.50 to $4.00 per designed book page (depending on trim size/word count).
- For websites and other material that doesn’t translate into pages, let’s talk about what you need and we can agree on a per-word or project fee.
